World’s Most Expensive Burguer Costs 5k and it has Gold Leafs

Dutch chef Jan de Veen has created the “Golden Boy,” also known as the world’s most expensive hamburger. Learn about the ingredients.

Recently, Dutch chef Jan de Veen launched the “Golden Boy”, a sandwich made with caviar, Japanese beef, whiskey and gold leaf. With such fancy ingredients, the burger is the most expensive in the world and worth €5,000.

The previous record holder cost around €4,200, weighed 352.44 kilograms and was created in 2011 in a restaurant in Oregon, United States. During his quarantine, Jan de Veen had only one dream: to break the record for the most expensive hamburger in the world.

Despite the absurd price, the entire sales value of the burger will be donated to the National Food Bank. “I decided to create the most expensive burger in the world and donate all the proceeds to charities to do good for society,” Jan de Veen said.

And in case you ever get the chance to try the Golden Boy, you need to follow the chef’s instructions: eat the sandwich with your hand, it is still a burger after all.
